Privacy policy

This Policy explains how SMUFGC PRIVATE LIMITED, through the AMBITN CAREERS brand, handles personal data collected through the initial landing page, Register Interest form and related enquiries. It does not yet cover full-platform student accounts, assessments, payments, counselling, institution dashboards, employee systems or other future services. Separate or updated privacy notices will be issued before those features go live.

1. Who we are

AMBITN CAREERS is a brand of SMUFGC PRIVATE LIMITED. For personal data processed through the landing page, SMUFGC PRIVATE LIMITED determines why and how the data is processed and is the responsible legal entity under applicable law.

2. Information we may collect

Depending on the fields and tools enabled on the live landing page, we may collect:

  • identity and contact information, such as your name and email address;
  • general profile information, such as city, State, organisation, role or user category (for example, parent, guardian, student, school, institution, professional or partner);
  • the content of a message, enquiry, feedback or expression of interest;
  • your communication preferences and records of our communications with you;
  • basic technical and usage information, such as IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring page, approximate region, pages viewed, date and time, and cookie or similar identifiers, where enabled; and
  • security and diagnostic information required to protect and maintain the website.

Please do not submit passwords, identity documents, marksheets, financial information, health or psychological information, assessment responses or other sensitive information through the initial landing page.

3. How we collect information

  • directly from you when you submit a form, email us or otherwise communicate with us;
  • automatically through website logs, security tools, cookies or analytics, where enabled; and
  • from authorised service providers or referral sources where legally permitted and relevant to your enquiry.

4. Why we use personal data

  • to record, acknowledge and manage your expression of interest;
  • to respond to questions and communicate about the planned launch, relevant updates, pilots, surveys, opportunities or services;
  • to understand the types of users and organisations interested in AMBITN CAREERS;
  • to plan, research, improve, operate and secure the website, business and future platform;
  • to prevent fraud, misuse, unauthorised access and security incidents;
  • to maintain records and comply with legal, regulatory, accounting or enforcement obligations; and
  • for another compatible or specifically disclosed lawful purpose, with notice or consent where required.

5. Consent and communication preferences

Where consent is required, we request it through a clear affirmative action, such as selecting an unchecked consent box and submitting the form. Marketing consent is voluntary. You may withdraw it at any time by using an unsubscribe option or emailing us. Withdrawal applies to future consent-based processing and does not affect processing already lawfully completed or information that must be retained for legal, security or record-keeping purposes.

6. Students and children

(1) AMBITN CAREERS is intended to support students, but the initial landing page is not a child account, assessment or counselling portal.

(2) A person below 18 years should not independently submit personal information through the landing page. A parent or lawful guardian should submit information on the child's behalf.

(3) We do not knowingly request sensitive personal information from children through the landing page. If you believe a child has submitted information without appropriate parent or guardian involvement, contact us so we can review and, where appropriate, delete it.

(4) Before launching child-facing accounts, assessments or counselling, we will implement additional age-appropriate notices, verifiable parental or guardian consent processes and other safeguards required by applicable law.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

The website may use strictly necessary cookies or local storage for security, form operation and basic functionality. Analytics or other non-essential technologies will be enabled only in accordance with the live cookie notice and consent settings where required. You can manage cookies through your browser, although disabling necessary technologies may affect website functionality.

8. Service providers and AWS hosting

We may use authorised service providers to host, secure, maintain and operate the website and communications. This may include Amazon Web Services (AWS) for cloud infrastructure, together with domain, email, form, analytics, security and development providers. Service providers may process personal data only for authorised purposes and subject to contractual, technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the service and applicable law.

9. When we may share information

We may share personal data only where reasonably necessary with:

  • authorised directors, employees, consultants and contractors who need the information for their work;
  • hosting, email, form, security, analytics, customer-communication and other service providers;
  • professional advisers, auditors, insurers, banks or potential investors where necessary and subject to appropriate confidentiality;
  • government, regulatory, judicial or law-enforcement authorities where disclosure is required or lawfully requested; and
  • a successor or transaction participant in a merger, restructuring, financing, acquisition, sale or transfer, subject to appropriate safeguards.

We do not sell personal data. We do not authorise third parties to use Register Interest submissions for their independent targeted advertising.

10. Cross-border processing

Some service providers may process or store information outside Maharashtra or outside India. Where this occurs, we will use providers and arrangements that are permitted by applicable law and that provide the legally required level of protection. Where consent, contractual necessity or another legal condition is required for a transfer, we will rely on the applicable condition and follow any notified location restrictions.

11. Data retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including responding to an enquiry, maintaining an interest list, business planning, security, dispute resolution and legal compliance. Retention periods may vary by record type. When information is no longer required, we will delete, anonymise or securely archive it in accordance with applicable obligations and technical feasibility.

12. Data security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal data from unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, loss or misuse. Measures may include access controls, authentication, encryption in transit where supported, backups, logging, monitoring, secure configuration and vendor controls. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

13. Personal data breaches

If a personal data or security incident occurs, we will assess it, take reasonable containment and remediation steps, preserve relevant records and provide notifications to affected individuals or authorities where required by the law then in force.

14. Your choices and rights

Subject to applicable law and reasonable verification of your request, you may ask us to:

  • confirm whether we hold personal data about you and provide appropriate information about its processing;
  • correct or update inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • delete information that is no longer necessary or is being processed without a continuing lawful basis;
  • withdraw consent for future consent-based processing;
  • stop or limit promotional communications; and
  • address a grievance about our handling of personal data.

To make a request, email contact@ambitncareers.com with "Privacy Request" in the subject line. We may request reasonable information to verify your identity or authority. A request may be limited where continued retention or processing is required by law, security, record-keeping, legal claims or the rights of another person.

Please write "Privacy Grievance" in the email subject and describe the issue clearly. We will acknowledge and address grievances within the period required by applicable law. Where the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011 apply, the grievance will be addressed expeditiously and within one month of receipt.

16. Third-party websites

The website may link to third-party sites or services. Their privacy practices are controlled by their operators, not by us. Review their privacy policies before providing information.

17. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy as the website, law or business develops. Material changes will be reflected by a revised effective date and, where appropriate, an additional notice. Before the full AMBITN CAREERS platform launches, this Policy will be replaced or supplemented with feature-specific privacy notices.
